Employment Physicals in Oak Lawn
Pre-employment, return-to-work, and fitness-for-duty exams - walk-in, same-day, employer-friendly.
New job offers, return from leave, OSHA compliance, and fitness-for-duty evaluations often come up on short notice. FirstCare offers walk-in pre-employment and return-to-work exams in Oak Lawn, completed during a single visit and built around the documentation employers actually need. Most exams are completed in under half an hour, and we fax or email your paperwork directly to your employer so you can start work without delay.
Pre-employment physicals exist to confirm a new hire can physically perform the job. The standards vary by industry. Transportation needs DOT compliance. Manufacturing and construction typically want a baseline lift test, vision check, and drug screen.
Healthcare and food service often require a TB test and immunization documentation. We handle all of it during a single visit. Our exam covers vitals, medical history review, physical examination of musculoskeletal and cardiovascular function, hearing and vision screening, urinalysis, and any specialized assessment your employer requires.
For employers regulated by OSHA or the DOT, we offer specialized exams. DOT physical exams for CDL drivers are FMCSA-compliant and performed by certified medical examiners. Return-to-work clearances after injury or illness include functional capacity assessment when needed.
Fitness-for-duty evaluations include the documentation employers and HR departments require for insurance and compliance purposes. If you are a fleet manager or HR rep, we can set up streamlined batch scheduling for multiple employees and provide consolidated reporting.
Drug screening is available the same visit if your employer requires it. We perform 12-panel urine drug screens with same-day results. We do not offer DOT-regulated drug screens or breath alcohol testing - employers requiring federally-mandated DOT chain-of-custody testing will need to use a DOT-certified collection site for that portion. The DOT physical exam itself (FMCSA medical certification) is performed here.
Vaccines required for many jobs - especially healthcare, daycare, and food service - are available on-site. We administer hepatitis B series, Tdap boosters, MMR, varicella, and influenza as needed.
TB testing (Quantiferon blood test) is not performed on-site. We draw the sample during your visit and send it to an outside reference lab; results are typically available the next business day. EKGs are performed on-site for jobs that require cardiovascular screening. Vision testing covers acuity, color vision, and peripheral vision as required.
We work with employers across Oak Lawn, Burbank, the broader south suburbs, and Chicago's South Side. We fax or email completed paperwork directly to your employer once the exam is done.
Most patients walk in without an appointment, and we will see you. If you want predictable timing, save your spot online before you arrive. HR teams arranging batch scheduling for multiple employees can request a consolidated workflow that simplifies billing and paperwork.
OAK LAWN EMPLOYMENT EXAMS
Employer-Ready Exams for South Suburban Workers
Our employment-side patient mix is heavy in transportation, construction, healthcare, food service, and warehouse work. CDL drivers from the Bedford Park and Cicero trucking corridors, south-suburban union construction locals, and healthcare techs starting at Christ Medical Center and Little Company of Mary. Plus warehouse workers from the I-294 logistics corridor. Each employer has a specific form. We have seen most of them. We complete forms accurately the first time, send them where they need to go, and avoid the back-and-forth that delays start dates. For employers with rolling new-hire pipelines, we handle batch scheduling and consolidated billing.
